May 2008 MAY -- The Visiting Nurse Association & The Scott County Inter-Agency Council has joined together to host a SEMO Community Resource Fair on May 31st, 2008 from 8:00-1:00 at the Sikeston Elks Lodge. We will have prizes, entertainment, refreshments, and many other things. So many people in Southeast Missouri do not know where to turn when they help or don't know what service to ask for. This event will allow all of us to educate the public on the assistance we can offer them. Registration is free for the first booth space requested but for each additional 8 foot table we will charge a $10.00 fee. Please find attached a registration form to guarantee your space at this event. Thank you in advance for any participation in this event. Please have your registration form turned in no later than May 15th. You won't want to miss this event. We will be advertising on the radio, TV, newspapers, fliers, and many other ways to make sure this event is a huge success. Exhibitor or Sponsor Registration Form Classic. Come join us for the Jaycee Classic 2-Man Scramble at the Sikeston Country Club beginning at 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday Shotgun starts based on Saturday scores. Entry fee is $100.00 per team plus $25.00 cart rental per day. Registration is before tee time on Saturday. Over $10,000.00 in prizes and gifts. (Based on a full field.) August 2008 AUGUST -- Sikeston Depot Museum Farmers’ Market (ongoing). There’s nothing better than fresh fruits, vegetables and other homemade goodies, every Saturday morning (weather permitting) from 8am to 12pm at the Sikeston Depot parking lot. AUGUST 6-9 -- 56th Annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo: One of the country's top five rodeos! This world class event has become legendary on the PRCA rodeo circuit bringing in the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation. And, with today's top country stars performing nightly, the rodeo is a must-see for the entire family. AUGUST 8-9 -- Cowboy Up! Arts Festival:
The Sikeston Depot Museum hosts this festival in American Legion Park.
Arts and crafts, concessions, Cowboy Poets, live musical entertainment,
pony rides & a petting zoo, a Depot robbery and cowboy shoot-out
– it all happens in Downtown Sikeston at the end of rodeo week.

SEPTEMBER 23-27 -- American Legion Cotton Carnival at the Rodeo Grounds. SEPTEMBER 28 -- Chamber Membership Luncheon at Ist Baptist Church, 12:00 pm. Lunch will be $8 per person. SEPTEMBER 27 -- American Legion Cotton Carnival Parade - 10:00 a.m., more details to come! SEPTEMBER 27 -- Cotton Heritage Festival: Follow the Cotton Carnival Parade to Downtown Sikeston and American Legion Park! OCTOBER 14 -- "Meet the Candidates Forum" sponsored by World View Awareness Organization at the Clinton Building 6:30pm. The second annual Downtown Sikeston Christmas ornament will be available for sale in select stores. NOVEMBER 20 -- Chamber Membership Luncheon at Concordia Lutheran Church, 12:00 pm.
