Power Plant

City BuildingThe City of Sikeston owns and operates Sikeston's 235 MW electric generation power plant, providing low-cost, dependable power to our industrial customers.  We also own and operate our municipal water works and waste water treatment services, which removes many of the headaches for our business community, and allows us to be locally proactive in meeting their utility requirements.

Electricity

Sikeston has one of the lowest electric rates in the state of Missouri. The Sikeston Power Plant is a 235 megawatt coal-fired generating plant.  A standby generation agreement is already in place to meet the needs of any individual consumer of electricity in our system.

Water

Eight deep wells to supply Sikeston with potable water.

Waste Water Treatment

The system utilizes twelve lift stations with a design capacity of 4.4 milion gallons per day.
